From my book: “25 Things You Can Do to Get Better Results From Your Internet Marketing.”
[25] Follow-up Faster on Inquiries
If you want to increase sales follow up faster on the inquiries you receive from your website or social media touchpoints.
Studies show that the first company to follow up on a web-based inquiry has an immediate and significant competitive advantage. Companies that are the first to “help a customer along their buying journey” are 72% more likely to get the sale.
Action Items
[ ] If you cannot email or call people back on the phone within 20 minutes of receiving their inquiry from your website, consider using an autoresponder such as Aweber.

[ ] Use a post-inquiry landing page (PILP) to improve conversion.
[ ] For the people who make inquiries at your website, create and offer a “takeaway” PDF with helpful information or frequently asked questions about your business. Put this on your post-inquiry landing page.
[ ] Follow-up on all inquiries within 4 hours, 7 days a week. If you follow-up in less than 20 minutes, I guarantee you are going to leave a very positive impression on your potential new client AND YOU WILL CLOSE MORE SALES!
[ ] Email follow ups can work. I suggest using the phone to follow up on inquiries.
